Haywood Street Community Development has plans to construct an apartment building containing 41 deeply affordable rental units in downtown Asheville, with a building footprint and design details informed by our core values.

The HSCD Mission

Dignity through dwellings,
connection through community.

We are thrilled to be moving forward with our first affordable housing community, close to downtown.

Haywood Street Community Development is a new legal entity formed in 2020 for the purpose of developing affordable housing connected to the existing Haywood St. ministries and programs.
